to the official Rush site of the Omega Chapter of Theta Tau. You may be wondering who we are. Well,
let's first explain our name. Theta Tau is the world's
oldest and largest Professional Engineering
Fraternity. Omega is the name of the local chapter of Theta Tau
that is located at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.Omega Chapter has a rich history of accomplishment on campus. We started as a local fraternity called Phi Alpha Lambda, which was the first fraternity at SDSM&T, making us the fraternity with the longest history at Mines. During the last 75+ years, we have excelled as a leader in GPA, campus organizations, community involvement, and brotherhood. Brotherhood is the core of everything we are. Theta Tau is a home away from home, a family away from family, for its members. On behalf of all of the Active and Alumni members of Theta Tau, welcome! What is Rush?
Rush is the time during the school year when fraternities and sororities become acquainted with students that might wish to join. This time period is also useful to students, allowing them to look at all of their options. At SDSM&T, Rush is during the entire fall semester.
